Ligia Linen Button Front Minidress

This is a beautiful dress. However, I normally wear a size 6-8 in dresses and this was especially tight around my 32ddd bust, and fairly snug around the bodice. I ordered a size up and hopefully that will fit better. The straps are adjustable so that was a pleasant surprise. Hoping to wear this to a daytime wedding if it fits.

This dress is beautiful, but unfortunately the buttons are not secured well. It arrived already missing a button but I sewed on the extra one because I needed it for an event the next day. The second time I wore it a second button fell off. I will have to have all the of the buttons sewn on better now. Too much to pay for something that’s falling apart after two wears.

I’ve gained some weight recently, so I’m currently between a Medium and Large in FARM Rio. I tried this dress on in a Medium, and it was only slightly snug right under the bust. I actually had about an inch of extra room around both my waist and bust. And this was WITHOUT a bra. I’m a B cup, and there was still a little extra room in the bust. To me, that makes the construction of this dress pretty obvious: it’s designed to cinch slightly under the bust to support and lift the breasts, while leaving more room for the actual bust. With a bra, it would bring the breasts together and give you a more lifted, glamorous shape. That seems to be the whole point of the cut. So honestly, I don’t understand the reviews saying this dress is “absurdly small.” Considering that this is non-stretch linen, I actually think it runs fairly generous. The construction and stitching on the one I tried were extremely neat, and the buttons were sewn on so securely that I honestly can’t imagine them just falling off. The only fit issue I noticed was the shoulder straps. Even on the shortest setting, they were still a little loose on me. But that’s a very easy fix — you could have the straps altered, add another buttonhole, or simply move the button farther down to shorten the straps. As for the reviews complaining that the buttons pop or gap open in the middle — that usually means the dress is simply too small for your body. If the fabric is pulling hard enough for the buttons to pop open, you need a bigger size. That doesn’t automatically mean there’s something wrong with the dress or the button placket. This is a fitted, structured linen dress. It’s supposed to hug you under the bust and create a flattering, feminine shape while giving the bust room. If you choose the right size for your actual measurements, the fit makes perfect sense. (With Far rio Large red cherry dress)

Beautiful dress, however….,the sizing is absurdly small. I have another Farm Rio dress in this exact silhouette and wear the XS. In this drsss, I can barely zip the dress, the arm straps fall down even at the tightest button, and when you sit down the buttons pop open because the placket is finished in an odd manner that doesn’t let them remain closed. I am a 25 waist, and an A cup, so not sure who exactly is taking the XS in this especially with a chest larger than mine.
