Le Pliage Expandable Tote

Price went up by $30 from years prior. That’s the first thing I noticed. I didn’t pay attention to the price when I purchased, until I picked up my order. Also, all of my other Longchamp totes from previous years were made in Paris…. Not this one!! Made in CHINA and 30 dollars more! RETURNING

I am in love with this bag. It gets a 10/10 because it is so versatile and is my favorite and most used Longchamp bag. Unexpanded it is about the size of the medium tote (green tote in attached pics is a medium) - perfect for everyday use. Expanded it is noticeably larger than the large tote, making it perfect for carrying extras when traveling, to carry my work laptop, or great to take all my essentials to the beach like I tend to do. I love how lightweight yet durable the bag is. Even when I carry my laptop, it does not strain my shoulders. I also love that it is easy to wipe clean and fold down for storage. To keep everything organized and neat inside, I always use a purse organizer with my Le Pliage bags.

I purchased the yellow expandable Le Pilage tote 2 years ago at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I have enjoyed the bag since I have owned it. It’s excellent for flights (sit perfectly under the seat), excellent for the beach (fits large towel and other beach essentials), perfect for shopping (you can literally stuff all sorts of things in there). Hands down it’s an excellent bag to have ….super lightweight, easy to wear, easy to pack ….I am 100% satisfied with this bag!

I bought this bag at the anniversary sale last year after traveling and needing more space in my bag on the way home. It holds a lot and is easy to fit under the airplane seats. The zip didn't seem to add much space until I remembered to use it on a recent trip-life saver! Even when not traveling I use it almost daily! The bag is classic, durable (nylon) and often complimented. You can definitely tell the difference between the original and knockoffs! I took off one star for the lack of pocket space--everything falls out of the one pocket! I picked up the gray one at the sale this year (they don't seem to offer it year round) and the only thing I don't like (besides the pocket thing) is that the inside is white & I think it will look dirty quickly-from crackers, makeup, etc. You can see from my pic that the navy one isn't as stiff as the new one, but after a year of use and abuse it still holds its shape and the leather still looks like new! I definitely recommend this bag--writing this review reminded me of how much I love the bag, so adding that one star back!

This was my first Longchamp bag, and I now have two -- both purchased during the anniversary sale. It's a great casual tote, but it's an excellent travel bag. It's great as an expandable carry on bag, if I need to stuff it full. And as I learned first hand -- it is WASHABLE. I switched to this bag as my purse for an 8 day trip to Canada. On the first night, at dinner, my husband's beer spilled, all over my dress and this bag. One full side of the bag was completely soaked. We found a drug store, purchased a small bottle of laundry detergent, and my dress and this bag received a thorough washing inside and out in our hotel bathroom. The bag was pretty much dry by the next morning -- to my amazement I could use it right away. The leather was completely dry by the second evening. The leather remains soft, and shows ZERO evidence of having been washed in a tub full of water and laundry soap. This is a fantastic bag, and worth every penny.
