Fit & Flare Military Coat

So I love to follow The Duchess of Cambridge on Twitter, and often see her outfits (all gorgeous!) and wonder where she finds coats that are so fitted and flattering, yet so classy and chic. Well, THIS is that coat! I call it my "Kate" coat, because when I put it on I feel as if I stole it out of her closet. Time will tell if it attracts lint (my pet peeve in a black winter coat) but otherwise it is absolutely ladylike and stunning....a truly elegant coat.

This Ralph Lauren ladies' wool-blend coat has a kitten soft feel. The surface stays smooth and silky with absolutely no pilling either, so put your mind at rest about that. It's a true-to-size fit. I normally wear an 8, and the 8 fits me perfectly. I'm 5'5", and the hem hits me right above my knee. The buttons are the same deep navy blue color as the coat, so they don't draw any attention to themselves. But, if you look at them closely, each one has "Lauren Ralph Lauren" on it. Lining of the coat is a matching navy silky polyester fabric. The two pockets are at the perfect height for my hands, and the perfect size to hold my gloves when I'm not wearing them. When the coat is all buttoned up, it's nice and warm even on a brisk, windy day. There's still room for wearing a scarf if you want to add one around your neck. I love wearing this coat with both casual outfits of jeans and sweaters and also dressy outfits of dresses and heels. Looks super with everything!

The style of this coat is gorgeous – just what I was looking for, and it fits me perfectly, since it comes in petite sizes. But the fabric is just awful. In one direction of the fabric nap, it’s extremely scratchy, which is really uncomfortable especially around the raised collar neckline. I’m not sure I would be able to stand wearing it. Such a shame the fabric is such poor quality.

I love this coat. It's style is fitted and I love that it comes in navy. It's a very dark navy blue. The fabric is warm and incredibly soft and feels so luxurious. It fits true to size but if in between I would go up a size. I usually where an 8 in Ralph Lauren and I got a 10 in this coat. I'm 5'6" and 140 lbs. I will definitely wear this on Christmas Eve and hopefully throughtout every day that's cold this winter. I rarely write reviews but this coat is gorgeous!

This is a beautifully-made coat of a lovely, soft fabric. The detailing is perfect. A similar one is worn by 5'9, long-legged Princess Kate in England and it looks superb on her. BUT.........because of the length and width of the "skirt", I do not think it flatters a short woman. I am 5'4, 120 pounds and bought a size 4 Petite. It gave me a short, wide look that I do not want. But it is a high-quality wonderful coat and i was sad to return it.

This coat is gorgeous. It fits true to size. I am 5'2" so I ordered a petite, and it fits perfect - the waist hits at the exact right spot, and the arms are the perfect length. The skirt of the coat hits just above the knee. The material is soft and feels very high quality, and the coat is warm. I love how classic this coat is - no crazy gold buttons or zippers, just a classic double breasted wool coat with a sweet fit and flare style. The flare to the coat makes it feel dressy so it looks great with tights and heels, but it also looks good with jeans and boots. This coat reminds me of something the Duchess of Cambridge would wear.
