What it is: An easy-to-use liner that delivers long-lasting color payoff that doesn't fade throughout the day, for flawlessly defined eyes.
What it does: The smudge- and transfer-resistant, color-true shades glide smoothly onto the lashline, staying put all day long without fading.
How to use: To create a tightline, dip a flat eyeliner brush into clean water then work the eyeliner into a thick paste. Apply the eyeliner underneath the root of your upper lashline by wiggling the brush between your individual lashes. Reapply to add intensity.

Wonderful product, thrilled
I love this new tightliner cake eyeliner very much with the activator sold separately.
I am 54 with sparse lashes now, I bought charcoal it's a perfect color - just the right charcoal/grey which is hard to find!
I apply a tiny bit of activator into the cake liner and tightline my top lashes to fill in the gaps and make a natural look- then for my personal taste I go over the top lid with a fine liner brush and make a fine line .
Doing this opens my eyes and my eyes and lashes look so good like there are no areas of lashes that are sparse when I do this method of tightline.
Off to buy this in Black now...maybe even try the plummy/purple color later.
Laura's regular cake liner is very nice however this a very stay-put product and highly pigmented for tightline [which I feel it should be and another reason why I like it so much].
I also find the gentle activator is just great - a tiny drop is all I use with ZERO irritation to my lids and lashes and this is vital for my sensitive eyes, my line lasts does not budge or smudge at all!! :)
The activator doesn't harden the cake like some do [by other companies]..my cake returns to it's normal state...no hard shine.
PS: I bought the travel tight liner to do this method as a shorter handle is easy for me.

Only good in the beginning
At first, I thought this was a great product. But, after having it a short time, I found it hard to get any color. Using the tightliner liquid, I would mix and mix, but the outcome was too sheer.

The best eyeliner
I am a "mature" eyeliner user. My use began in the '60s and that's enough said. This eyeliner is easy to apply and very natural looking. I have bought it for many years. The eggplant and marine blue are my favs. They look natural-not blue or purple, just not stark black if you know what I mean.

Lasts Forever
So far this is the best liner I've found in terms of staying power and ease of use. I use it with a fine sable brush to draw a thin line along my upper eyelids. I've tried the tightline method with good results too, but I still prefer the conventional method. I'll never go back to gel or cream liners, which invariably turn into jars of pasty sludge a couple of weeks after you buy them, no matter how much you spend. You won't find a better product out there. If you try this and it's not working for you, I suggest you try a better brush. I picked a fine watercolour brush up at an art supply store.

Amazing Eyeliner!
This amazing and unique eyeliner is different from any other on the market! It is applied under the upper eyelashes, with a special brush and liquid activator. The brush makes this eyeliner easy to apply. You are left with eyes that appear "open" because your lid is not heavily covered in eyeliner. Your eyes truly "pop!" With all the colors available, I have enjoyed changing my "Tightline" color to match my lower lid gel color! My eyes do not tear with the eyeliner and/or the activation. Even crying does not leave eyeliner running down my face! I love this product and recommend (at the minimum) having a Laura Mercier representative demonstrate this product!

The best cake eyeliner!!!
This is the best eyeliner that I have ever used. I’ve been using the Laura Mercier tightline cake eyeliner for over 22 years now. I have tried many other eyeliners but nothing compares to this product!
