Like a cheap rain poncho
I love Lands End's swimwear and have been buying their mix-and-match tops, swim skirts, board shorts and rash guards for years. These shorts were a disappointment. They're made of a thin, plastic-feeling polyester that feels (and sounds, when you move) like one of those cheap rain ponchos you carry to outdoor events. The board shorts I purchased previously a few years ago felt like real fabric and held up for years. I'm sorry to see this transition and will be returning this item.

Nice fit, and modest for this granny
Have only tried it on, and it fits great. I wanted it to provide more coverup over a tank suit that has leg openings that are too large for my skinny butt! So in the pool, off it will slip, but when lounging with the grandkids on the deck, on it will come!
BTW, I’m 5’4” 125.

Don't like.
I wanted plain swim shorts to match the suit I haven't received yet. I don't like pockets in my shorts and they were too big and baggy.

Great coaching shorts
I love these shorts and own several pairs. I use them as coaching shorts out on the courts. They are a perfect length and stay cool in the summer heat. The only thing I don’t like about them is the weird gapping that happens around the pockets. It’s not due to being too tight (because I’ve also sized up to baggy shorts and they still gap), it’s just the way they are made. But, a t-shirt covers the top of the pockets so no big deal. I find they run true to size according to the size chart
