What it is: A synthetic-bristle dual-ended brush with flat, angled and tapered, rounded heads that provide moderate-to-full coverage.

What it does: Ideal for use with both powder and cream eyeshadows, this brush is designed with two sides for portability and convenience. The flat, angled side precisely lines the lid and lower lashline, while the tapered, rounded side perfectly blends. The angled side is cut at a sharper angle for better lining and use in the brow.

How to use: Apply your chosen shadow to the back of your hand to warm and remove excess. To shape, shade or highlight, place the rounded side of the brush upside-down into the lashline and blend upward toward the crease for even application. To define and line, gently sketch the flat, angled side of the brush through the lashline to achieve your desired look.

Excellent
#17 and #18 (this brush) are my two essential brushes. After more than two years of using these everyday, they show no wear and I don't feel like I need any other brush. I use the #18 angled side to line with Lancome's shadow, dry for everyday or with a drop of water for a more dramatic look. I shade with the rounded side, and then highlight and blend with the #17.

Technical difficulty
I retruned this - after just a few uses, the mechanism to expose more of the eyeliner stopped working, so it was essentially useless.

Lancome Dual End Brush #18: Double or Nothing
Bought this brush on impulse to go with Lancome teal gel liner. Flat end of brush is good for gel liner and thin lines, the small rounded lay down good for most shadows and creams. I store my brushes standing up in a container, not flat in a brush case, but that doesn’t work well for a two sided brush. I kept the plastic brush protectors to keep the brush heads clean without damage, but it’s not ideal. This is the first and last time I buy a double sided brush.

My favorite
I own five Lancome makeup brushes and this is my favorite. If I had to have only one eye shadow brush, this would be it. The shadow end of the brush provides both precise application and blending ability, while the angled end helps apply liner close to the lashes.

Great Brush
This is by far the most versatile eyeliner / eyeshadow brush I have ever owned. It is the perfect size .

love the angle brush
I especially love the angle brush. The synthetic bristles give it just the right firmness to use it to smudge, blend and extend soft gel eye liner. I use a very pigmented soft gel eye liner to do a cat eye effect but currently am softening the line and wing with this angle brush and it works great. I can extend and feather the end point and then smudge the excess under the eye.
