Reeve High Waist Straight Leg Ankle Jeans

So, these jeans are 'advertised' as authentic-denim; these are in no way the denim I grew up wearing: these are super stretchy, not see-through, but not heavy and substantial either....as original/authentic jean material used to be. While a straight-legged fit, these were way to baggy from the rear down to the ankles. A size down would have been too snug for my waist. I wear a size 32 at 5'5", so if you are able to wear a smaller size, maybe these will have a better fit for you...not so very baggy. I have 2 pair of the Reeve jeans in faded skyline and stonewash blue, that blow these away. So for now, I am returning these in search for the more perfect white jean in maybe a slightly slimmer fit. Good quality, just not what I was hoping for.

I have many pairs of Lafayette 148 Thompson jeans which are fabulous. I was told by a maroon at Lafayette 148 online that the Reeve fits "like the Thompson." A total lie. The Reeve jean is junk. Since when is it acceptable for the zipper pull to get stuck down in the placket every time when unzipping the jeans? I wouldn't tolerate that in $50 jeans, much less $400 ones. The fabric is stiff and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I had them shortened so I am stuck with them. The Thompson jeans are a much better fit and fabric.

At 5'3", I love these jeans because they are full length on me, because the fabric is the right weight to hide flaws, and because the stretch makes them super comfortable. The Reeve High Waist Jeans in general are my faves, and these are the best of these, because of the stretch. I've had them for over a year now, worn them often, and they still look new.
