Poor quality
This $450 Givenchy sandal has been a huge disappointment. While the style is attractive, the quality is far below what I would expect from a luxury brand at this price point.
After only a few wears, the inner sides of the sandals began developing scuff marks on their own. The marks continued to worsen with each use, despite normal wear and careful handling. Initially, I thought I may have accidentally caused the damage, but after speaking with multiple sales associates in the Designer Shoes department at Topanga, I was told that this is a common issue with the rubber material used in these sandals and that similar scuffing occurs on many luxury rubber sandals. They added the Dolce Gabbana rubber sandals have the same issues.
Frankly, that explanation is unacceptable. A $450 sandal should not look worn out after only a handful of uses. Consumers purchase luxury products with the expectation of superior materials, craftsmanship, and durability. If the material is inherently prone to visible scuffing, that reflects a design and quality issue—not normal wear and tear.
The sandals may look beautiful out of the box, but they do not hold up in real-world use. I regret this purchase and would not recommend them to anyone looking for quality footwear that will maintain its appearance.
