If you want smooth skin and a youthful face this is the product to use. I've been using this product for over 20yrs.

Gentle, Not Ultra-Gentle
My skin is super sensitive. In the past 15 years or so I have only found one face cleanser that has worked for my skin type. I was in the mood to try something different so I purchased La Prairie Purifying Cream Cleanser. It feels wonderful and I do not have an immediate bad reaction to the product. However, after a month of using it I noticed my skin is redder than usual and slightly irritated and hot feeling.
I unfortunately cannot continue to use La Prairie. I would assume that this product works wonderfully for those who do not have super, super sensitive skin. Reason being-it felt great being applied and didn't have an immediate negative effect on my skin. However, I cannot agree that this product is ultra-gentle. Gentle yes. I would still recommend to friends after discussing their skin type.
Those of you with sensitive skin and/or rosacea will understand.

Great for winter
I have ultra sensitive skin which reacts instantly to stress, sleep deprivation, or unexpected change in air humidity. Keeping my face clean is #1 priority of my day, so when it comes to facial cleansers I need it DELIVER and clean my face thoroughly.
This cleanser surprised me in a positive way. Although it didn't give me a squeaky feeling a foam cleanser would, my face was better off overall. My face didn't scream when I used my alcohol-based toner. The moisturizers I used after were better absorbed. My complexion did get smoother because my pores were smaller.
I'm taking one star off because the cream doesn't mix well directly with water. It separates without loosening completely and you're just left with milky water in your hands that's useless. The directions should suggest applying to dry face then rinsing, because the product spreads more evenly that way.

Exceptional - Worth the Spend
Hard to believe with all the great skincare brands and so many amazing cleansers that one can really and truly stand out - this one is EXCEPTIONAL. No question. Well worth the spend. It is 1) nourishing, 2) great for sensitive skin, 3) leaves skin soft, supple, smooth, and 4) it smells amazing (but not fragrance-y). Highly Recommend!

This cleanser is really a nice texture, very light and creamy, but if you have super sensitive skin, you might test it on your skin first.

Cleanser
I have used this product for several years. I have used other cleansers, primarily due to cost concerns, but I returned to this product because my skin will break out with other products. Although costly, it lasts for several months.
