Newport Waterproof Bootie (Women)

I bought both 8.5 and 9.0 sizes, My normal shoe size is 9.0 AA and I wear custom orthotics in all may shoes and boots. Size 8.5 fit me the best even with my orthotic inserts. The boot opening is narrow and there is not a lot of stretch to get the boot on. I first struggled at the store to get them on and at home I used a long shoehorn which made it 100% easier to get my athletic ankle length sock into the boot. They feel even more comfortable and cushiony with my orthotics and fill up the medium width space wearing a thicker sport ankle style sock. I had read elsewhere that the elastic gores are not waterproof but saw in a Nordstrom review one person said it was completely waterproof. This past week California has had incredible heavy rains and unavoidable puddles everywhere. I hope these new booties hold up these the elements. I agree with others that these are more sporty liking rather than dressier but comfort is #1 for me now. this bootie is classy causal dress/style and looks good with jeans, jeggings, leggings and tights.

I got these for a visit to the Midwest during the “bomb-cyclone”. While they did seem to be waterproof, they weren’t as warm as everyone raved. You definitely need to wear with a ski sock if you need warmth. (I, however, did not need to go up a size to have the ski sock fit). I normally wear an 8 1/2. I bought the 8 1/2 & the 9 and found the 8 1/2 to fit nicely. Only con is I found them to be too casual- I was looking for something a bit more sophisticated but they look like nice tennis shoes instead.
