Connor City Dry^™ Waterproof Boot (Women)

I've been on the hunt for a waterproof, stylish, comfortable black leather Chelsea boot since I moved to NYC nine years ago. That hunt was satiated for a time by Cole Haan's Newburg boots, but I grew frustrated with the quality of the materials used and their durability. I'd get the soles replaced each season and they'd get holes in the seams after a few months. Instead of rebuying those, I found the Connor waterproof boots. These are comfortable beyond belief and have a much more stylish look compared to the Newburgs. The lug sole is an added bonus, time will tell how they hold up but I am hopeful. Materials seem much higher quality by comparison. One thing I didn't see in reviews before purchasing was how LIGHTWEIGHT these shoes are. Because of the foam sole, these are comprable to a midweight sneaker instead of a heavy boot. They also have a very generous toe box - to the point that the length almost feels too long in my TTS 8. The main reason these get 4 stars instead of 5 is price. $475 is on the way high end for me personally to spend on shoes, but considering these are serious contenders for my holy grail of fall/winter NYC boot, I made the plunge.

I have purchased at least 6 pairs of boots in the past three years hoping to check all the boxes: waterproof, great for walking, comfortable, look good. Finally! These are an attractive, waterproof boot with a slip-proof sole that is not too heavy. Look great (I went with the suede), fit great, and do not aggravate my long-ago ankle injury with their weight. Will be able to walk miles in comfort. Would love in brown also. Usually wear 9, sometimes 9.5. Bought the 9, fit perfect with a little room in toe in case I want to wear a slightly thicker sock once in a while. No slippage in heel with regular sock on.

I have been eyeing these boots and the other review that compared to Cole Haan was so helpful! However, when I tried on in-store the 6 felt big. I'm a standard 6M (36EU). The associate told me that was the smallest they came and that they were TTS, so I ordered them to ship to my house. I tried to wear them and I was in a lot of pain near my big toe. They just were hitting my foot in the wrong place. I went to check the La Canadienne website to see if they carried them smaller, and I discovered that the 5.5 is 36EU. The 6 is a 36.5EU. THERE IS A HALF SIZE DISCREPANCY TO STANDARD US SIZING. I feel like Nordstrom should be aware of this. Luckily I barely wore them and didn't try to modify the shoe to break them in. But it really did cause a lot of pain and now extra time to return. Love the boots, so I'm returning and ordering them directly from the brand site.

I loved these boots so much! After about 5-6 wears (normal, errand type wears) the elastic sides started to ripple at the top (the elastic looked stretched out...not good). I have no idea why as they did not fit snug on my ankles and I slipped them on without too much flex in the elastic. I took them back to the store because this should not happen so quickly with a boot at this price point. Other than that, they were beautiful. I did reach out to La Canadienne about this before I returned the boots but they never replied. I am usually an 8.5 in aquatalia and La Canadienne and I purchased these in an 8.5.

These boots are strikingly gorgeous and astonishingly comfortable. My feet are cradled in cushiony love every time I wear them. Thankfully I can wear them as much as I want without wear and tear because the quality is impeccable. I find they run a bit larger than my other Aquatalias (8.5US/39EU) but I did not size down since they’re just right with socks plus they do not look clunky in the least.
