Not for me
The "large" was too large. A subsequent order of medium-size trunks did not fit well -- they seemed to stretch through the day, making them uncomfortable.

Heather briefs fit a size larger
The size medium (M-32/34) gray heather briefs are comfortably larger; more like a 35-1/2 to 36 waist.
For perspective, the white size medium briefs are true to fit, very uncomfortable for a size 35-1/2 waist.
