Sunflower Color Preserving Shampoo

This shampoo is pretty awful. I was excited to try based on reviews, but seriously disappointed. First it is nearly impossible to get any kind of lather from this shampoo. If I used, what would be a normal amount for any other shampoo, it wouldn't even clean my hair. No matter how much or how little I used my hair ended up a musky mess after I blow dried it. I did try numerous times to see if I was using too much or too little of this in conjunction with the conditioner. But, in the end my hair looks and feels as though I haven't washed it for weeks. And the color got sucked out of my hair just as fast as any other shampoo. Waste of money.

My hair is over processed, thin, oily and nothing was working. I was looking for a product that I could use everyday without drying my hair out. The first time I used this product my hair felt amazing. I no longer need to blow dry my hair and no longer need to use a curling iron. I just let it dry naturally and it looks good enough! My ends stopped breaking off. I did not buy the conditioner..though my hair does pretty well without it.

I wanted a shampoo that would protect my colored locks from the sun and other environmental factors, as well as help keep my oily scalp at bay. It helped a little with the oily scalp (not as much as I'd like, but it made my hair overall feel really clean). I just used a little dry shampoo for my scalp and it was perfect. This shampoo and conditioner duo made my hair super soft and manageable. My hair looks extra shiny and healthy. I highly recommend trying this in the smaller 2.5 ounce bottle first, then decide whether to buy the bigger bottle. I'm completely hooked, especially because this has no silicones in it. Silicone makes my hair greasy all over. I deducted one star because it is expensive compared to drugstore prices, but very much worth it.

While I'm always trying new products, I always come back to Kiehl's sunflower. I have a lot of fine, wavy hair that is very hard to control. Starting with this shampoo is a big help. It doesn't leave my hair limp like many other suds-free shampoos. I also think it's making my color last longer over the long term. I'm only needing it touched up every 4 months or so. Worth the investment!
