Fake leather
Nice looking but they seemed cheap-feeling coming out of the box. I thought they felt like fake leather, and sure enough if you take the time to click through the product details hidden away under a drop-down, it says "Real and synthetic leather adds durability and structure—just like the AF1 first released in '82." Clearly vague about what's synthetic, but based on the feel I'd say they are mostly fake.
