Coco Floral Print Gown

Nordstrom has me saved as a 2 but I consider myself a 4. However, I ordered this dress in a 6 which was too tight in the waist and rib area so I ordered an 8. We measured the two dresses and they were exactly the same width in that area. I am having it altered, because I truly love the style, the asymmetrical neckline, the sleeve length, the beautiful fabric and the pockets.

Bought it for daughter’s wedding in November. I love the dress; quality, color…. Exactly what I was looking for, sleeves and age appropriate, I’m almost 60, but so so sad that I didn’t size up. Bought a 10, which is my size, but should have bought the 12 and they are all gone, will have to return it. So so sad.

I compared the above Kay Unger Coco gown with a Kay Unger Rochelle. I sized up in the Coco, based on dimension specs. The Coco was too large and the neck seemed to droop a bit. The fabric in the Coco was not as hefty and marbled as the Rochelle. Perhaps part of choice was based on size, but the Rochelle seemed a better defined dress that fit well and seemed more simply elegant. No question, Rochelle rated a 5, Coco rated a 4.

I bought this gown to possibly wear for my daughter’s wedding. It is gorgeous, beautifully constructed, and comfortable. I returned it because we decided to go with a more neutral colored gown for me. It ran large on me, so if I would have stayed with that style I would have exchanged it for a smaller size. I did love the dress though—pockets and all! Will definitely consider this designer’s dresses for future events.
