Cleared my hormonal acne!!
Quick background... My acne was severe enough for me to go on Accutane about 2 years ago. My skin was super clear during and after, but about 6 months ago the hormonal acne came back. I tried to stick to all the “simple” and “sensitive” cleansers (CeraVe, make p:rem, Cetaphil, etc.) because I was also using other acne treatments and didn’t want to overwhelm my skin. I kept blaming everything else for causing the acne, but didn’t think about my cleanser being the culprit. Then, I decided to give this cleanser a shot since I love the ExfoliKate treatment so much from this brand. Let me tell you... my skin cleared up in just about 3 days. My skin seems to respond amazingly to sulfur, and I will continue to use this cleanser forever. It’s been about 3 weeks now and my skin is completely clear. For months I always had at least 3-5 pimples at all times, and now ZERO!! Thank you Kate Somerville!

Caused Terrible Breakout
I don't often review products, but I had such a terrible reaction to this one that I wanted to share my experience for other customers who may have similar skin to mine. I had been prescribed a sulfur wash by my dermatologist, which I'd used on and off to help control my acne. I have incredibly sensitive skin and have suffered from cystic acne my whole life. When I found this non-prescription product, I was looking forward to trying a more gentle, less drying sulfur cleanser, especially since the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I stared using it about a week ago, and initially, I really liked it. A little goes a long way, foamed nicely, and felt gentle on the skin. However, within a couple days, I had a horrible, horrible cystic breakout on my chin. Assuming it was a bout of hormones or stress, I continued to use this wash + the Eradikate treatment, but the cysts only got more and more irritated. My cheeks also became bright red and itchy. I finally stopped using this cleanser and within 24 hours, the breakout had started to clear and the irritation went away. This product would probably work well for someone without sensitive skin, but something in it definitely caused my skin to react.

great for black heads and sebaceous filaments
I noticed a lot of black heads and sebaceous filaments on my nose and chin and was recommended this product. I wash my face with a gentle cleanser and then massage this cleanser into my problem areas after for about a minute and I have seen great results and it’s only been a week. It really clears my pores.

Finally something that works
What a relief to finally find something that helps my hormonal acne. I am 32 and have been dealing with hormonal acne for the past 2 years. I’ve tried everything I can, including face wash from the derm, but I have an allergy to most acne products so I am also very limited. This is the only product that has significantly reduced my hormonal acne. I know hormonal acne starts within so I don’t expect zero acne at all but I can happily say that since the first use my hormonal acne has reduced down to 10-30% (depending on what week of the month I am on) of what it was. And those 10-30% are smaller and quicker to treat compared to the previous large and cystic acne I was experiencing. There is no bad smell and my skin isn’t dried out. I will continue to use this ever day. I am officially a loyal customer after the results I’ve experienced.

I wish I could personally thank kate for her eradikate line! I have hormonal, cystic acne and I have been using this for a week or so and it’s already working like a charm. Her daily cleanser, her eradikate mask paired with a vitamin c serum has cleared my skin so fast already. I was one to never splurge on high end skin care but i’m so glad I did.
