Lovely dress to dress up or down

Buying dresses is something I have not done in years. I sold the company I owned that kept me in regular need of lovely clothes in 2011 and ever since, I have worked from home helping other business owners sell their companies. I have worn only slacks and saw no need for dresses. I then started seeing pop up ads when I went on the internet and the ones from Nordstrom had such beautiful dresses. I thought of places I could wear the dresses instead of my de rigueur uniform of dull black slacks. I should add that I have put on some weight in recent years and I now wear an XL instead of my former Medium. This dress was wonderful because of all the "secrets" it hid. And the best part is I can wear yellow gold jewelry with it to church or simple dinners at restaurants - OR - I can wear my rarely worn diamond jewelry with it to increase the WOW factor. I feel like a "girl" again and it's WONDERFUL!

Terribly unflattering

Normally wrap dresses look good on my body type but this dress was a total exception. It made me look like I had padded hips. Even my husband who lies and tells me everything looks good on me, said it didn’t look right. That’s putting it mildly. It looked horrible on me.

it fits beautifully

I normally can't wear dresses as I am size 16 top and 10 bottom. But because the of the stretch this dress fits and is just beautiful. I bought navy first and when I saw how it fit, also bought black. I'd buy every color they offered...:)

The Perfect Dress

After living on a Western ranch for 20 years, I found myself having to look good for a fancy event in Boston last week. I got out my pearls and found this dress plus some great pumps at Nordstroms, and I looked like a different person! This dress drapes beautifully, something important to me because I'm not a kid any more, and even better, I felt I looked as good as I can at my age. I was very pleased with this dress and with the shoes, and they made meI feel pretty special. I'm happy with these selections.

Perfect Black Dress

I needed a dress for a wedding and saw this on the 'Wedding Guest' dress list at Nordstrom. This is the perfect black dress and can be worn for many different types of occasions due to the tasteful and elegant cut. The neckline is not too plunging, and the length is perfect. I wore it with pumps, it would also look great with a dress sandal or flat. The fabric is substantial, not flimsy, which looks rich. This will be a 'go-to' dress for many functions, I am delighted that I bought it.

A simply perfect dress!

This is one of those dresses that everyone should own. Great for work, party's, weddings, or funerals. I bought it for my son's wedding because it's elegant, a tiny bit sexy, and very comfortable. I love the way it flatters my figure without being too revealing - even covers my tummy bulge. In my experience, the fit is true to size. The neck line is a little like a shawl collar and can be worn closed or slightly open which changes the whole look of the dress. Every time I wear it I get compliments. I've spent ten times more on other dresses just like this one, and like this one just as well as those. This is my new "little black dress" in navy blue.

Dress Conundrum

Wanted to love this dress, but it seems like it has different materials for the front of the dress and for the backside. The front is nicely draped and can be adjusted for a high neckline versus a lower neckline by pulling one side of the draped under a breast. Sounds odd but it works. Beautiful style, classy. I am not going to keep this dress unless I can find better undergarments (though I don't like feeling squished). I wish the backside had a double thickness to it as it shows every little imperfection that one would like to not show. For the front it is not much of a problem because of the draping effect from two layers, but the back is just not that flattering for me.
