I have back problems that these shoes immediately helped the minute I put them on. The design of the shoe and wide heel forces you to stand upright. You can feel yourself stretching out and standing the way you were meant to. My sciatica is less painful due to my posture when wearing these shoes. Also, the footbed is very padded and comfortable. The only negative, if you can say it is a negative, is that they run small and narrow. I had to order up a size which I thought would be way too big and they are perfect. This hiking boot is just what I needed--great ankle support (I have a history of ankle sprains) and decent support for my touchy plantar fascia.
