What it is: A velvet matte lipstick.
What it does: Created with the exclusive Velvet Booster+ complex, this creamy, lightweight lipstick delivers intense long-wearing, luminous matte color that softens, comforts and moisturizes lips for a full six hours. It hydrates with organic marsh samphire extract and nourishes with organic apricot oil.
How to use: Define your lips with your favorite lip liner. Then, apply the lipstick from the center of your lips outward.

The worst product I've used on my lips
It's lumpy and you have to mix it with ChapStick to avoid drying your lips. See the images attached. I am dissapointed because I still use Clarins for everything on my face and neck (creams and makeup) and all products are high quality except for this one.

Smooth formula
Bought the Sandy Pink, which on my lips is a medium (not light) brown-pink (more brown than pink). The color, I don't like so much because of how dark it looks on my lips. I was hoping the color would be lighter because it looks like one of the lightest in the Velvet Matte line. Anyway, the texture of this lipstick is amazing for a matte. It is smooth and moisture-filled, and it goes on evenly and feels almost like butter, even if I don't prime my lips beforehand. If you can find a color you like, go for it. This matte lipstick is bomb!

Smooth Lipstick
I bought this in Grenadine, which in the tube looks to be a berry/pink. When applied it looks to be more of a coral on my lips. This formula is smooth, I find it wears very well and leaves a stain. I don't think this lipstick gets enough press. To me it feels and acts just like the Givenchy velvet matte, which I have about 4 of, I can't tell the difference between the actually. I've giving this one less star because when I apply a lipstick, I want it to look like the color in the tube. I'm not a fan of corals so I don't like this shade. But other than that, the packaging is nice, the formula is nice, it feels light weight on the lips.

I first bought Joli Rouge Velvet at the Paris upon the recommendation of a clerk in the airport store. I loved the color and that it had awesome staying power for hours at a time. I recently ordered two additional tubes but the color is different...more brown. What happened?
