WOW!!!
I have never smelled anything so close to wood and incense in my life!
Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily is very strong and pungent. It smells exactly like a cedar box if you stick your head in and inhaled deeply...it smells like hamster cage cedar bedding if you like that smell [in a good way] or a heavily incensed Buddhist temple.
It has a very powerful sillage and longevity is exceptional! This cologne is definitely a cold weather fragrance, most wearable for Autumn/Winter; it would be warming and comforting under a heavy Winter sweater. You can wear this into the office, but beware, a very light hand is warranted; one or two spritz at the most on the chest is all that is needed.
I do highly recommend Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Cologne, Intense Collection, but I am bias, I LOVE heavy, noticeable fragrances.

This perfume has no lasting fragrance. I was very disappointed in the smell & longevity.

Doesn't last
I gone to the counter and received many samples of this over the last several months every time I'm at the mall because I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. Unfortunately, it does NOT last on me. I am so very sad because, I can spray it 3 times a day on me and I never get anyone mentioning my fragrance.
One of the ladies at the counter mentioned I might try layering over a fragrance free body cream so maybe I'll try that if I can get more samples.
$170+tax seems like a lot of $ for a fragrance that can't be smelled 2 hours after putting it on. I've even tried putting on my clothing and it doesn't seem to last there either.

Breathtaking/ Jo Malone Dark Amber
This is Truly One of a kind scents. I fell in love w/ this at the Nordstroms counter& the brand. This is my favorite scent. I can’t go anywhere without being asked what it is. There’s nothing else like Dark Amber. This is my signature scent. It’s very difficult to describe this scent but I think when you try it you instantly become addicted to this. Nice lasting power very feminine, Seductive this is the date night wanna stand out be noticed scent. Once you try it you can’t be without it. Love love love❤️

Worth the splurge
Yes it's pricey compared to other mainstream brands...BUT worth it - absolutely... The scent; like the first review states; is more of a cool weather scent where you can get away with being bolder... But it could also be worn on a big night out... Love the scent, it lasts and anytime I have worn it - people notice it....it is a heavy scent so be gentle with how many sprays you do....but enjoy it...a must have...

OH MAN!! I absolutely adore this fragrance. It is so intoxicating. I do not like floral scents. I don’t like that overpowering smell of fresh flowers in the least , so reaching for a fragrance that has “Lilly” in the title atypical for me. But I am SO glad I did. This not a typical floral fragrance. It is a warm complex scent that really envokes the sensual warmth of amber, the spice of ginger , and the ever so subtle streamlined touch of Lilly. This is beautiful. Safe to purchase as a blind buy. If you’re considering it .... JUST BUY IT.

Fall/Winter favorite
When JM discontinued my beloved signature scent [Vanilla Anise], this took its place. Warm & spicy, but nothing like any of the mainstream warm & spicy fragrances on the market. JM does an excellent job creating niche fragrances that make the wearers feel significant and unique. The fragrance notes smell rich & authentic, not synthetic. For me, this is a calming fragrance that I want to breathe in deeply. Maybe that's why I like it so much.
