Jasper Woven Mary Jane Flat

Oh, Kenneth Cole, you are not the Kenneth Cole of the 1980's & 1990's - The only thing that appears to remain the same from that golden era is your logo... I love stripes and thought this would be a great shoe to add for my spring and summer wardrobe. The listing describes the shoe as Natural Raffia and I assumed, it was ACTUAL natural raffia. But it is not. What the listing meant was "natural-colored" plastic raffia. The whole shoe, except for the metal buckles, is man-made synthetic materials. On one hand, having a faux-raffia shoe would be better wearing than actual REAL raffia from a wear and longevity standpoint. Instead, everything just felt incredibly cheap the moment I took it out of the box and removed the paper stuffing. The strap across the foot is vinyl, the inside is all vinyl and synthetic and the sole is a rubbered plastic. I'd hope to overlook the plasticity of the shoe if it looked cute on and fit, but the fit of the shoe was strange on me, too. Having a foot that is often in-between 9.5 M or 10 M, the 9.5 M hit the widest part of my foot in an uncomfortable spot. The shoe toe box felt just ever so a little short, too. However, I instinctively knew that if I went up to the 10 M, the fit would be too wide and long. So I packed them up and returned them. They were super cute online, but really, not so cute in person and on. Bummer. I also felt they were too expensive for what you get. This is a $50-$60 shoe, at best. Three stars (and that's being generous) because of price, fit, and the all synthetic construction.
