Classic, quality trench

BEST. TRENCH. EVER! I originally was going to buy the Ralph Lauren trench on the anniversary sale, but even though I ordered it, Nordstrom couldnt fulfill the order. Needless to say, I was upset. However I kept searching. I thought I was going to have to splurge on a Burberry trench in order to get a classic, quality coat that I liked until I came across this one from J. Crew. It was price matched AND they had my size...DOUBLE WIN! I read some reviews on J. Crew regarding sizing, but I ordered my actual size and its perfect. This is truly a closet staple at an amazing price!

Overall not that great

Without a doubt, this trench looks great when you first see it. However, it’s constantly wrinkled - which is a downer considering how sophisticated the coat looks. You can’t iron it (assuming can’t steam either) and the wrinkles take away from the overall appearance. It makes it look less polished and put together. I have no way to get the wrinkles out and if I did have a way - it would be the same as soon as I sit, etc. Also, it attracts almost everything. Good luck wearing a scarf.

Great coat, strange fit.

This is a darling coat; however, I am not fond of the belt location. The belt is so high that it makes the coat fit with an empire waist (just below the bust) rather than at the traditional waist.

Perfect trench!

At long last I've found a cute, flattering trench!! I'm 5'7" and this hits just above my knees. The higher belt keeps this looking cute and not masculine. I removed the shoulder straps because I couldn't quite pull those off but they easily removed and the button that held them in place isn't noticeable without them. The collar does not stay "popped" if you're hoping for that look, but I wasn't so no matter to me. Very thick, heavy material, perfect for between seasons in the Midwest. Wipes clean easily which is a plus for me with young kids who have messy hands.

Too high waisted

J Crew is one of my favorite brands so I was disappointed this didn't work out. I agree with some other reviews that the waist/belt is too high. Other than that it would have been perfect. The fabric is great, I like that there are no back vents and it was a good length. And it was on sale....bummer.

Didn't fit well

I own a few J. Crew coats, but this one wasn't what I had expected. It is a very heavy material and it did not compliment my shape. It was returned.

Great Quality for low price.

This is a very well constructed and tailored trench. Made like quality men’s clothing is made. I love it. The fabric is a tiny bit rough so lint tends to stick a tiny bit. I have 3 shedding dogs and their hair doesn’t but other soft yarn materials do. I will still choose for the long slender cut and quality.
