The handle is twisted — two rods of brushed gold wound together in a rope form that runs the full length of the grip. At the base of each blade, a hand-cast bow marks the transition: open loops, a knotted center, the same detail on the spatula and the knife. The cake already on the stand, the server taken up before the first slice. A table set for something marked — both pieces laid out beside the cake, the moment before the cutting begins. The warm metal against white icing, the bow still visible where the hand closes around it.
