Icona Clip Continental Wallet

I have an older version of this wallet, made of a much tougher, textured leather. I like some of the design changes in this new model — the closed sides that make it more like a clutch, more slots for cards, and the ID holder on a chain — but the softer leather makes this feel less substantial. I think the construction quality is slightly less, too. I like it, but I am a little disappointed. The leather on this wallet felt very dry, so I treated it with a leather gel. It absorbed this so quickly that I had to do three applications.

I bought this wallet almost exactly two years ago, and there is noticeable wear and tear/ rubbing off of the leather coating just above the clasp. I honestly expected more from a $700+ wallet, but I'm pretty disappointed that the discoloration/ wear is as noticeable as it is. Given standard to lighter wear (I use a phone case wallet day to day, which is why I'm calling it "standard to lighter")
