Hinoki Shampoo

The scent is iconic. It works well on my hair and is not overly foamy. Minus one point for always being on Sulfate free lists but look at the ingredient list: Hinoki: Water/Aqua/Eau, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Sorbeth-230 Tetraoleate, Isopentyloiol, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Decyl Glucoside, Maadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Sodium Lauriyl Oat Amino Acids, Sorbitan Laurate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Pca, Urea, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Citric Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate, Trehalose, Polyquaternium-51, Rosmarinum Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Triacetin, Limonene, Linalool, Disodium Edta, Bht, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Chlorphenesin, Sorbic Acid.

This is the most amazing smell I have ever experienced. It’s reminds me of a clean earthy woody smell. I need to smell it every day. Makes your scalp tingle and gentle for every day. Can’t live without this shampoo. For the record I have probably tried every shampoo on the market cheap to expensive. This one is unbelievable!

I love the smell of this shampoo! It's heady and musky and sensual and lingers into the next day! I have fine, curly hair - don't use heat tools or color my hair and, generally, am pretty much just wash and go. This shampoo gets my scalp pretty clean on the first wash and leaves it really lightweight and soft. Minimal frizz. It does, unfortunately, make my scalp kinda itchy. I don't use any other products with sulfates, so that may be what's causing this, or another ingredient that my skin isn't used to. No flakes or other physical symptoms, just itchy. I've used this shampoo about 6 times, alternating with my others, so I know it's specific to this product and not a one-off thing. I don't know if I'd try this again, I didn't realize it had sulfate when i originally purchased, but I will work my way through the whole bottle.

My wife and I actually heard about this shampoo from a video with Sunmi explaining what products she uses. She mentioned this shampoo and the way it smells, so we decided to pull the trigger and test it out. My gosh. I can't explain how amazing this smells after using it, along with the feeling you get when you smell it throughout the day knowing it's your hair. The smell reminds me of a fruity but earthy Aesop product cranked up to 10. Aside from the smell it definitely allows my hair to be styled easier and looks nicer than when I used Tsubaki. It gives you that clean feeling while making your hair look like you just walked out of a salon.

This shampoo is very moisturizing and gentle, however I found the scent to be much too strong. Also, it darkened my hair. I have naturally light hair with salon highlights, I have to have it redone. I do love the shower gels however, and the scents are much lighter than the shampoo scents. The gels for the shower are very silky and moisturizing.
