Hi Star Low Top Sneaker (Nordstrom Exclusive)

These platform sneakers are to die for. They do run large.... Like 70's Cadillac insanely large. I am a true to size 37 in the majority of tennis shoes. These are in a league of their own. When trying these on, they felt fine in both size and width. Once I started walking, my heels popped out of the shoe. I tied the laces.... My teenage daughter informed me that I looked like a dork with my GG tied... What's new? So, to look like an even bigger dork, I bent down with my mom's jeans fanny straight up in the air (evidently, Mother Jeans are now mom jeans, and yes, I can still touch my toes) to see where my toes landed. I was surprised to find that they were a good 1.5" from the tip of the tops. I had the "sales" boy (literally, no one at Nordstrom sells anymore, those "working" the floor only fetch shoes- in this kids defense, he was super friendly, and I am told owns quite a few pairs of GG- evidently they all fit differently? Good to know. As for this pair, I will state it again, they run at least a full-size large. I can not stress this enough. Size down. More on the fit: When I tried on the 37, I was surprised at how stiff the shoe was. When my heels popped up as I walked I thought it was due to the stiffness, not the incorrect size. Note that the heel bed had some seriously delightful cushion making me believe the shoe was the correct size. Just for giggles, I tried the next size down- a complete game-changer. Gone were the stiff soles, and they were still cushy and wonderfully comfy. My heel stayed in place, and my daughter was thrilled to see me not tie the laces. A bonding moment between mom and teen. What I also love about these shoes is that they aren't distressed like 3-day-old road kill. These are borderline trend/timeless classic. A mom can wear these with confidence and still represent. Two thumbs up.
