Haven Faux Leather 16-Inch Laptop Tote

Disappointing Quality and Not Practical for Travel I was really disappointed with this tote. It looks and feels cheap, and it was much bigger, bulkier, and heavier than expected, especially when carrying my 16-inch MacBook. The luggage strap was frustrating to use and kept getting caught, making it difficult to put the bag on and take it off my carry-on suitcase. It also got marked up almost immediately after going through airport security, which was disappointing for a bag intended for travel. The pockets were more confusing than helpful, and I constantly found myself losing track of my items. On top of that, the bag kept falling open while I was navigating the airport. Overall, it was heavy, inconvenient, and impractical for travel. I would not recommend it if you’re looking for a functional, durable work tote for frequent flying.

I wanted to like this bag but the design is flawed. The bag won’t stay upright when you have a computer in the main pocket. The bottom needed to be wider to stop this from happening. I am constantly frustrated that I have to set it against something otherwise it falls right over!

This is a really lovely bag. The color is nice, it fits all of my stuff and keeps it well organized with the various compartments. However, there are a few downsides that would prevent me from buying it again. 1) It's quite heavy and can really cause some strain on the shoulders if you're wearing the shoulder strap 2) The shoulder strap frequently unsnaps at random times, causing the bag to fall to the ground and everything to spill out. 3) After two years, my bag officially broke and I can't reattach the strap because the metal buckle on the purse snapped. So I think this bag is officially done. I will be looking elsewhere for my next bag, but it was a nice two years! Wish the warranty covered more time.

I’ve had the Calpak Haven Tote for a little over 2 years now and I’m finally writing a review because I feel like I’ve had enough time to really put it to the test. Pros: The biggest thing I love about this bag is the size and how much it holds. I can fit everything I need for work without it feeling ridiculously huge (laptop, iPad, kindle, folders, lotion, snacks). I’ve also used it a few times as my personal item on a flight and it worked really well for that. I especially love the strap on the back that slides over the handle of a carry-on. I have the bag in black, and after 2 years, I think it still looks pretty good. I’m also not particularly gentle with it. I throw it in my car, drop it on the ground when I get to work or get home, etc. So considering how much I use it, I think it has held up pretty well overall. Cons: My biggest issue is the buttons on the inside. There are buttons on either side that hold the middle section in place, and about 6 months ago, one of the buttons completely ripped out from the other side. So now I only have one button attached. The bag is still completely usable, but it is annoying. I’ve also seen people mention having issues with the strap coming undone. I didn’t have that issue for a while. It wasn’t until a few months ago that the strap came undone for the first time and the entire bag fell off my arm. It happened once more after that and I assumed the holes on the strap had just gotten stretched out over time. I moved it to the next hole and haven’t had the issue again since. Overall: I still really like this bag and would definitely say it has been a good everyday work bag for me. I love the size, the amount of space and pockets, and the fact that I can also use it for travel. My main complaint after two years is the interior button coming apart, with the strap issue being a more recent and relatively minor problem. Once it becomes a little more beat up, I will likely buy it again!

I have had this bag for about 1.5 years and use it on average about 1x a month -- the strap broke the most recent time I used it and there is no warranty. Based on the price, I would have thought it was higher quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this bag so much. It’s very versatile and the strap makes carrying my work items and laptop a lot easier. I’ve gotten several compliments on it as well for it to be a work accessory. I held off so long on buying one but the quality is definitely worth every penny! The removable laptop pouch makes the bag even more useful for organizing other things outside of work. The color selection and quality of these bags is amazing and gives me the ability to use it anywhere.
