Stand Collar A-Line Dress

The style of this dress is really nice. The top of the dress has some detail without it being to flashy. I do find that it runs slightly small. I got my usual size and it fit in the bust, but it didn’t fit as nicely in the stomach. I decided to try one size up and it fit better. By going up it made the length slightly longer which worked in my case. Still above the knee, just doesn’t go up to much when I sit down. I did not have any issue with under my arms being to big- which for me is very unusual. I always have an issue with it looking to big under there. That being said, I was tempted to even go up one more size on the dress to see, but when I went up one I can see the next size would be to big under my arms. I feel that the dress is nicely made and has great material. If you have any kind of stomach I would go up a size. (I always find that the people who say it’s slightly big and then the ones who say slightly small, and then the ones who say true to size are all built differently. The ones who usually say are big are usually xs or s- they don’t have a butt, chest or stomach. The ones who say slightly small- usually have a bigger chest, but or stomach. Not necessarily all of them, but something that stands out in the item and true to size usually is just average). I would say if you are thin you should stick with your size, if you have something that you don’t want the dress to accent- go up.

This dress is not worth 148 bucks. The star of show here is the collar. Which from the picture, I totally thought it was fold over like Jackie K style but it wasn’t. It came super wrinkly which means that the fabric is prone to wrinkles despite the fact that it’s so thick. The cut on the armpits were extremely low that it shows my armpits in an unflattering way. The cap sleeve was too short to even cover that. It was also right up top but super flared out at the bottom. This dress has no stretch to it really. I’m disappointed.

I love this dress! I would typically order a size 12, but they were sold out, so I ordered three different sizes hoping one would fit! 18 (with the expectation I would have it altered), 14 and 10. One by one they arrived in the mail. In the end I’m keeping the size 10. I would caution anyone to not buy this dress too big. It fits better true to size and it you buy it to allow more room in the waist area, it hangs longer than it’s meant to. It has a cute, short retro vibe made out of heavier black material perfect for Fall or Winter. I plan to pair it with some nude stilettos and pearl earrings. Just gorgeous!
