Double Face Wool Coat

Let me just say I stalked the Nordy website at least 3+ days to FINALLY scoop this coat in a size XL for my curvy - Size 14, 5’7 body frame. As you can imagine it felt like I HIT the lotto when it FINALLY became available for like a minute, plus I had $60 Nordy notes to use..so it was PERFECT timing! Now having the jacket, I can say it is super chic w/ that cool girl vibe BUT it is a little itchy & no lining (which I knew) so not very thick, its begging to be used for layering, especially to avoid the itchiness. Also, the front pockets seem VERY BASIC..I am a little concerned they may not stay sewn in well with a lot of use to hold items & placing your hands in/out which I will do a lot now living in NYC. I honestly have NO idea how this jacket could be reg. price at $249..NO WAY! I am struggling a little even w/ the NAS price BUT since I used $60 notes, I might keep it & see if the wear goes well, especially the pockets ..hmmm. All in all it is a “good looking” true camel colored coat with a sophisticated streamline look, but this should NOT be anyone’s main coat. Ohh & I should mention on my curvy frame, w/ kinda medium size fupa & wide butt (thanks QUARANTINE), the buttons are NOT stressed when fastened across my lower waist (I wished it hit me on my upper waist but I am not tall enough) & the coat ends mid calf on me... so it will definitely cover the long cardigans I plan to wear under it. It’s kinda oversized on me too which is what I wanted to wear over thicker items.

I really really don’t understand why everyone loves this coat. I was excited when one coat came back and it was my size. I grabbed it and had it shipped. When it was delivered I first noticed it was extremely thin, somewhat ok with that since my other one like it is really thick. But it’s thin in a way where it looked cheap. So that’s not good. Secondly, SO ITCHY. The material is so uncomfortable to wear and extremely itchy. I wore it only for a moment in my closet to try on and just felt like I could not imagine wearing this for a whole evening. It’s also very oversized. Got the large and a medium would have been enough. Returned.

This is beautiful. Finally a camel coat with a rich camel color. The fit is good. It does run slightly big, but be careful about sizing down depending on what you plan to wear underneath. This is unlined, so it is not an everyday winter coat in the Midwest, but I couldn’t pass it up. Feels like a good quality, affordable Max Mara inspired coat.

I have been on the search for the perfect camel coat for years. I’m not saying this one is perfect, but it fits my key criteria pretty well. I wanted something that wasn’t overly thick, which this one isn’t, as I didn’t want an uncomfortable stiff coat as a lot of these are. This one is soft and bendable. The color was also important. I wanted a true camel color not too dark and it too might. This one is a perfect true camel color. I got it in a medium because that’s all they had and while I would normally want a size small- I snatched it. I’m actually glad because I like the oversized look and I can layer it with sweaters underneath if I want. Perfect length- hits right at my knee, or just above. I love this coat! Super happy. I don’t agree that it’s overly itchy, it’s not buttery soft but it’s not that scratchy. There should be a place to add photos because I think real photos make the difference as stock photos are air brushed with special lighting and models, so it would be nice to show the realness or the coat.

I tried this on during the Anniversary Sale and although it’s gorgeous, the material is too scratchy for comfort. It is unlined, so the material is right next to your skin. I had a long sleeve shirt on, but the coat was still uncomfortable, not just through the sleeves, but along the neckline. There was a time when Nordstrom would have selected a better grade material.
