Aston Belted Ski Jacket

Have loved snowboarding in this jacket! It’s super warm without being bulky and I love the fitted look. I got my usual size small which has enough room for multiple base layers underneath if needed. The sleeves are a bit long but I rolled them once which works fine. I also enjoy the features like the pass pocket with goggle wipe and chest pocket for your phone. The blue color is gorgeous!

Original I bought this in the spritz color last season and am quite disappointed by the quality a year later. I really liked the jacket and have received several compliments, especially because I wear it with the matching Carson bib (friends always appreciate how easily they can find me on the slopes too). I was looking for a new jacket that I could wear in various weather conditions and that was both functional and fashionable. I like the belted look to add some form (functional ski clothes are always so bulky and unflattering!), and it had all of the features I was looking for and more (armpit vents, big hood, chest pocket (with a phone leash!)). It has the perfect amount of insulation that you can layer under for colder days and not get too hot for warmer days. However, I’m finding it hard to recommend Halfdays because the quality of the jacket has been lacking for me, especially for this price point. When I took out the jacket for the first time this season, I noticed that one of the front pocket zippers had detached at the top, exposing the insulation inside. Since I noticed this over a year past purchase date, it was sadly no longer covered under warranty. I only wore this jacket for a week last season so I really didn’t get much use out of it. The jacket breaking that quickly indicates low quality to me. Polished I purchased the Aston Jacket in Spritz last season and loved the aesthetic. It’s both functional and fashionable; the belted silhouette is very flattering compared to typical bulky gear, and the features (like the phone leash and pit vents) are well thought-out. The amount of insulation is also perfect for layering in various conditions. However, I cannot recommend this jacket due to poor quality. Despite only wearing it for one week last season, I discovered the top of a front pocket zipper had detached, exposing the insulation. Because I noticed this just after the one-year mark, it’s no longer covered under warranty. For this price point, I expected a jacket that would last more than seven days of use. Bottom Line: A beautiful jacket that unfortunately doesn't hold up to actual mountain use.
