Gran Lattissima Coffee Machine

I bought this because my decade old version's plastic had become brittle and was breaking at some connecting points. It worked great for years and am sorry that the "shell" that held it wasn't made to last. I purchased the larger, "better', newer version, Gran Lattissima, but it doesn't perform as well. It doesn't from the milk as well as the old one. That's my biggest beef. Otherwise it is more aesthetically pleasing, heats up quickly and is easy to clean. I would like the metal pieces to feel more secure as they rest in place, but it's not a deal breaker. I am an espresso / cappuccino drinker not an espresso / cappuccino aficionado. If you are, I don't suggest this machine.

I have had my Gran Lattissima machine for almost 2 years now. I waited to write a review. Love it. I can't say enough about this machine. My family can't say enough about the coffees I give them. I have to say it took a little to get used to the frother. To me it is less of a pain then cleaning the Aeroccino which I used to have. I do things totally different than Nespresso instructions for care. I know this machine doesn't get good ratings because of the frother. I have to say I have no problems with the frother because of my system of maintenance. People have problems with their frothing because of the lack of cleaning on the frother, guaranteed. 1st - if I'm making multiple coffees in a row I do not go through the cleaning cycle as Nespresso instructs, that is a waste. 2nd - Immediatly after use I run the clean cycle . Then I do a quick rinse on the top components of the frother by taking off the tube and the side twist and lock piece that connects to the machine. I run water through the tube, side piece taken out and the rest of the top leaving the other 2 pieces attached. I leave the milk in the container as I only clean that every few weeks in the dishwasher. or when I feel it is necessary. The process takes less then 30 seconds and is way more easy then cleaning the baked on milk in the Aeroccino. 3rd - Every few months I put about 1/2" of vinegar in a clean milk container and run 1 froth cycle. I let it sit there for about 10 minutes and run the froth cycle again & again until I use up all the vinegar in the container. After this you will need to fill the milk container with water about 1/4 of the way up and just run the froth cycle until you get rid of the vinegar smell. I'm sure the Nespresso cleaning solution would work as well. The result is fluffy froth for every cup of Nespresso I have. I also use 1/2 & 1/2 and get a great tasting bonus in every latte.

Didn't like it at all. The water container on the Gran lattisima has a lid that is not attached.. kept falling into the water; also a free standing lift for short cups...why? I gave it to a friend... and am using my old Latissima Pro..Thinking about going to a different company if a better machine is not offered soon

I've had this product for about 2 years now and LOVE IT!!! I can make cold or hot coffees/lattes that rival any coffee shop. The machine has worked flawlessly for over 2 years now. Now that I have down how to take care of the Frother it is not as much of a pain as Nespresso makes it to be. Would be glad to write my own maintenance and cleaning vs what Nespresso instruction are.
