Good Standard Straight Leg Jeans

Love these jeans. The denim is very comfortable without lots of stretch. The fit is relaxed so I sized down. I saw them on the rack and thought, nope; so I left them hanging. While I was in the dressing room trying on other jeans, the salesperson brought them to me and said, “Just try them on.” So glad I did! I knew immediately I wanted them.

I’m one of the short torso-ed, slim hipped people who have been begging Good American to make a jean with a lower rise, so we don’t look like Humpty Dumpty in their denim. Apparently, they listened! So when these went on sale, I bought them and absolutely love them. If you’re apple shaped, these are the jeans for you. Trust. Me. That said, they do run large. I am 5’6 and wear a 33 in Abercrombie jeans, a 34 in Agolde. In GA’s I can wear a 14, 15, or 16, depending on the fabric and level of stretch. I nervously bought a 14 in these, after reading the reviews and I’m happy I did because they’re perfect. The rise hits right at my belly button, so they’re in no way low rise, but high enough to flatten my aging stomach. The length hits right at the bottom of my ankle bone, my legs are… shmedium length? These do have a bit of stretch to them, and as the video mentions they are indeed a very soft denim, definitely a lighter weight denim than Agolde or Abercrombie and much softer and more comfortable than those two brands imo. I was SUPER nervous about the wash of these as I went to the GA website to look at them after I’d already bought them. Both the GA and Nordstrom photos depict this wash as having a lot of variations in the color and obvious marbling. The only thing I can think of is that it’s the bright lighting from the professional photography because the wash is absolutely amazing in person. You can see the subtle fading in front, and they are a true medium wash. But you don’t see the really obvious color differences that the photos depict. The pics don’t do these justice! These would totally work on a true hourglass body as well, as long as you size down at least 2 sizes to make up for the waist running so big in these. Also- you know how when you get older and you try to wear the more relaxed style jeans but your butt resembles an 98 year-old’s in leggings? Yeah, these don’t do that. They don’t fit as close to the booty as GA’s skinnies do because they’re a more relaxed fit. But the pocket placement is spot on and my butt looks good too. Good American just have my wallet now, because I’m going to want more of these! Can’t rave about them enough!
