What it is: A dual-use, silky, radiant complexion-perfecting formula with micro-silk technology that offers a luminous matte finish and long-lasting wear.
Who it's for: Ideal for those with normal, combination or oily skin types who want seamless buildable coverage and a matte finish.
What it does: A dual-use applicator gives a versatile makeup result—the beige side sets and perfects your foundation while the black side offers a lightweight foundation finish.
How to use: To set your foundation, after applying foundation use the beige side of the applicator and gently press it into the powder. Lightly dab onto the face, focusing on the forehead, nose, chin and cheekbones, to help boost the wear of your foundation and perfect your complexion. To touch up and perfect foundation, during the day use the beige side to set larger areas for a natural finish and the black side for fuller coverage. To use as a lightweight foundation, firmly press the black side of the applicator into the powder after priming your skin. Using gentle, rolling motions, apply all over face and repeat as necessary to achieve desired coverage.

Best Powder I've found
This is by far the best face powder I've come across. I am 34 years old and I am beginning to have some fine lines, such as around the corners of my eyes. I have stopped using my long-standing Chanel because it seems to amplify those lines. I received a sample of this Luminous Silk compact and within one use I knew I would be buying it to replace my Chanel. It does not settle into fine lines and it really does have a beautiful, silky finish that is a perfect balance between matte and dewey for a fresh look. I am fair skinned and I bought shade 2 - it is almost perfect, but perhaps a touch too light. The sample I was using was 4 and it wasn't too dark at all, so I think if you're debating between the 2, 4, or 4.5 you're probably fine any way you go. I am happy with the 2 but as I said, I didn't see a substantial difference between that and the 4 other than that the 4 does have a slightly golden hue. As a reference, I wear a 3.75 in the Luminous Silk foundation, which is also amazing and I highly recommend pairing both together for a flawless finish.

Dull, not luminous
I am usually very pleased with Armani Beauty, so I ordered this for ease of carry and touch ups.
I also applied with a brush. My face was itchy, tight and flat in the light. I couldn't get it off fast enough and will be returning it.

Welcome Luminous Silk Compact!
I am a loyal fan of Armani Beauty products and a faithful and happy user of Luminous Silk and Maestro liquid foundation, Face Fabric, liquid and powder blush, the new liquid bronzer and especially in the summer the Lasting Silk powder foundation. I was very pleased to read that a Luminous Silk compact was on its way and bought it yesterday at my local Nordstrom. It is a wonderful addition to the beauty line and I think i will be switching from the lasting silk powder to this. Wore it for the first time today and layered it over the Face Fabric rather than the Luminous silk liquid- too warm today here for that much makeup. Totally lit up my face and softened everything. I did not use the applicator that came with the compact ( are those things even washable?) but applied with the large Chanel powder foundation brush and it turned out beautifully. Not sure I will ever use the applicator but will have to play around with that first before I decide for sure. At least for me the color numbers are consistent with the liquid foundations ( I am 5.5) so was pleased I did not have to go that route and knowing that may be helpful to those who have to order online. The compact is smaller than i am used to with Armani but very pretty. This is not to be missed!

magnificent
#2 for fair - just lovely sheer coverage with the addition of being a foundation with additional coverage as needed - compact is a work of art in sleek design with a magnetic closure. A fine powder, great color and a special treat - highly recommended.

Giorgio Armani has the most beautiful products and this powder is nothing short of stunning. It goes on flawlessly and lasts all day. I have been wearing this product for over then years and would never buy anything else.
