Rise Volumizing Hot Brush

I can do my own blowout curls on my hair so I was excited when this tool came out as I was looking for an alternative to a loud blow dryer every morning. After a week of use here are some pros: heats up in seconds, lightweight, less danger of burns, no need for a heat pad, root lifts are amazing & simple to do. Cons: Time consuming for my long hair because you can operate only in smaller sections because of the current barrel length & size. It also works best on next day hair. Freshly washed & dried hair w/ products still wasn’t optimal for getting that nice glide (or release) to happen as 2nd day hair. In sum, my own thermal brush blowouts are easier & less time consuming than using this tool. I think it would be excellent for shoulder length bobs or anything shorter as getting volume & swoops were easy to create. Just not the right tool for longer hair if you’re looking for those blowout type curls. I’m gonna keep the tool for now as I’m anticipating a haircut later in the season but will keep using my larger barrel T3 curling irons until then.

I believe this hot tool was specifically made for me! I have a chin-length bob that is thinning, fine and straight. I’ve used numerous hot tools but this one is completely different. I can put volume and curl where I want it and also straighten the ends. My hair turns out looking fuller and styled instead of limp and flat. It heats up in a second, has auto turn-off after 30 minutes and stays at 165*. It’s just a great tool for my hair. I’ve been contemplating getting a hair-topper, but this tool plus my “Toppik” hair fibers for balding spots has changed everything. Thank you, GHD!

Gives me a sleek blowout look everytime that I have always tried to get with a blow dryer but couldn't. It gives my thin hair a lot of bounce and volume without the need for dry shampoo or other products. Quick to heat up and the design is very pretty. It is a bit difficult to manage at first but once you get the technique down, there's no living without it. Be very careful when putting this tool in drawers/packing for travel, the little plastic teeth are fragile and get clipped off extremely easy. Within the first couple uses, I noticed 2 missing. Now that I've had it for a few months, there's at least 12 or so missing. I have never even dropped it.... So would be scared of that. For the price, I wish it came with a pouch or protective cover.

This GHD Hot Brush is sleek, functional, with a stay cool tip. No burned fingers here! I parted my hair in the center and worked on one side. the difference in volume and fullness was easily noticeable. The secret is to start right at the root and wrap your hair section twice around the barrel. This creates tension. Then slowly run the hot brush through to the ends. This straightens any kinks and results in a smooth sleek yet voluminous finish. Lives up to the claims !

I needed something to tame my hair on days i don’t wash it that wouldn’t kill the little volume i have. The first few times i used this i was underwhelmed but i stuck with it and now really like it. I use a dyson air wrap the days i wash my hair and this doesn’t replicate that level of volume, but it’s fast and effective. I can style my hair in 5 minutes and the heat doesn’t make it go limp. I like this much better than other heated brushes I’ve tried; the fact that i can curl my hair with it too is an added bonus. For reference, I have chin length, fine hair.

Wow. I don't even know how I have lived for so long without this tool in my life. This is my second ghd product and I am hooked. I have long hair (mid-back length), fine in texture but dense, with a full head of highlights. This hot brush does wonders for it. This is such a versatile tool; I can do a full head of soft curls with it (do smaller sections), or I can just do the base of the crown for extra volume, or sometimes I just use to to kink out my ponytail a little so that it's not so flat. Plus with the bleached hair, I get unruly ends and this puts them in their place. It also works magic on my baby bangs, it styles them perfectly. It is quick, efficient and just all around wonderful, in my opinion much easier and faster than a traditional curler. Totally worth the money.
