I love gentle souls. I was excited to find a great moccasin to help me wear something flat and comfortable as I healed from a catastrophic ankle injury. They're true to size, but do buckle out at the sides when you walk, but not enough to prevent me from enjoying their amazing comfort. However, within a couple of weeks of owning them and maybe 5 wears, the threads started to unravel from the sides where the top meets the side. It happened while I was wearing them and away from home. I tried to re-thread the stitching and tie a knot to hold me over. No sooner do I get the shoe serviceable enough to get through the day, but the OTHER shoe starts unraveling, too! To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The shoe wasn't cheap, but the workmanship is. For the stitching to unravel after so few wears (or even at all) is not just, perhaps, a design flaw, but a flaw in the materials and the workmanship. I gave the three stars because the shoe is comfortable. The lining really is easy on the feet and it was just what I needed. I'm probably being more generous than I should. But buyer beware. You'll end up paying your shoemaker to fix the shoe because the manufacturer was cutting costs, but not price. I'm gong to look to see where these were made. If it's as I expect, I may be moving on from Gentle Souls altogether. I'm very disappointed.
