Ivy Strappy Slingback Sandal

I wrote an earlier five star review for these. I tried them on in the house, loved the look, and couldn't wait to wear them. Summery weather arrived and I wore them to work this morning. Within less than an hour, the beautiful metallic color was flaking off, over the toes on both shoes, see photo. It has also flaked off all along the sides of the straps. The insole and heel seem to be a bit different finish than the straps. It seems like the insole and heel might be longer lasting. But, one hour's worth of wear is ridiculous. I am hoping that Gentle Souls is notified of this defective material ASAP. I have several other pairs of their shoes which have worn beautifully for years. They are being returned now.

The sandal is very nice, cute with a comfortable footbed and straps set so they lie comfortably on top of foot. My only complaint is that they run very wide. If only they came in a narrow size or if the promised medium width was truly a medium width! I wish…

I am a longtime fan of Gentle Souls, and these do not disappoint. Very comfortable with enough heel to be very flattering on the foot and leg. The heel shape is interesting, adding some extra style. I got the platinum color which is somewhere between gold and silver, I never wear any yellow gold of any kind, I even shy away from gold hardware on purses, shoes, belts, etc, but I like this color. It's a great neutral. There is a little bit of a "granny" vibe to the style, but in a good way.
