Perfect for every season's weather!
I had a jacket almost identical to this one for several years but lost it on vacation two years ago. I have tried to find a similar one, with no luck. Most I have ordered were very flimsy, or too "shiny" (like a slicker), or didn't have a hood, or did not have an adjustable waist.
This one is the PERFECT weight to hold its shape nicely; it does not look like a raincoat/slicker, is not too warm for summer and is warm enough for winter (if you layer under it). The inner drawstring waist keeps my torso warm, and gives me a nice shape.
Also, it is fully lined, PLUS has an additional removable lining for extra warmth. The front both zips and snaps closed, and the zipper is a good quality metal. The hood doesn't fall over my eyes, and is good for wearing in the rain when you don't have your hands free for an umbrella. It also looks attractive from the back.
I could not be more pleased. I thought I was NEVER going to find a jacket to replace the other one, but this one may be even better. WAY exceeded my expectations.

Great coat, but needs petite sizing
The fabric is really good quality and has a nice sheen to it. The color is pretty and is accurate to the picture, it is definitely dark purple. The only issue is that if you're petite, the coat will probably be too long. I am 5'3" and the sleeves went past my knuckles. The length of the jacket is also definitely longer on me than it shows on the model. I don't usually have problems with ordering regular sizes for tops, but the sleeves on this jacket were very long. I still really like the coat, it's great quality, but it does look big, and I wanted something a little more compact-looking like on the model.

Gallery raincoat
I have been needing to replace my favorite 20 year old black Gallery Raincoat but could not find a seller. I was delighted to find out Nordstrom carries them but was disappointed there were no Petite Large only the large. Worried that the medium would be too small I ordered the Large. I hung it up and stared at it for over a week. :-) then finally put it on and took a test walk with my dog. It was cold and windy. I was warm and toasty and the hood fits better than the one on my old coat. I really love everything about it except for the length of the sleeves. I can take it to a seamstress if it bothers me too much. So, thank you for having this one available, and, on sale.

Sleeves WAY too long
Oh how I wish for the days when I could find petite raincoats at Nordstrom! This coat is perfect (though longer than on the model) except for the sleeve length. My alterations lady (I don't live near a Nordstrom but only a Nordstrom Rack) says it will cost $60 to hem the sleeves as there is a lining. That almost doubles what I paid for it on sale. Alas it will have to go back. If you think you can make the sleeves tighter by adjusting the snaps on the sleeves, think again. Doesn't make any difference at all.

High quality & flattering rain jacket
ordered a couple rain jackets to compare - this one and a Via Spiga one that was higher price. the gallergy cinched waist raincoat was clearly higher quality, fit better, and has high-end details like the little buckles on the sleeve and the removable liner. I feel like Im getting two jackets in one for that! the cinching on the waist is very flattering, and I would say it fits true to size, or maybe a little small. i'm 5'4" with an hourglass/ pear shape and usually a size 4 or 6 - a small fit well!

Perfect professional raincoat
I wanted a raincoat that looked a little more polished so I could feel confident wearing it into the office. This raincoat is exactly that! I love that it has a liner so I can decide how thick I want it to be. The cinched waist and gold hardware give it an elevated feel. Love it!
