Melissa Leather Hobo

I have been "eyeing" this bag for some time, but really couldn't bring myself to lay down the cash for it...although I knew it is worth it. This last spring I started a 10 month treatment for cancer and as I near the end of my treatments I wanted to reward myself with something special. This was it! The size is perfect for me as it allows me to carry some extra medical supplies I may need. The leather is soft and beautiful. I prefer the cross body strap especially when I'm shopping, so that is a great option for me. This is a beautiful, quality bag that is well worth splurging on. I even bought the wallet...cuz, hey I deserve it!

So I originally got the Jenny Hobo for Christmas but decided I didn't like it. It was beautiful and I loved the leather but it was hard to get into and dig through because it was so floppy. It felt heavy- even when empty and I didn't like the cross body strap (not leather). I ended up exchanging it for this and so far this is just about perfect. The leather is beautiful and smells great- granted I have a weakness for oil skin since I love how it feels. I expect that it will last a long time and age beautifully. So far I've been using it as an everyday bag and feel like it's easy to get into since it's fairly stiff (holds it's shape), and holds everything I want. I did notice that the strap is uncomfortable with heavy stuff but then it's not really meant to be a messenger bag. I have a much smaller purse (Frye Cameron Mini) for when I only want to carry keys, wallet and cellphone and I have a messenger bag for when I want to carry a laptop. This bag is perfect for my ipad, phone, notebook (for school), keys, and other random stuff. So far the only thing I'd change about it is I wish the short strap was removable because I'm using the cross body strap and I doubt I'll ever use the short strap.

This bag is so stylish and functional. The leather is sturdy, but soft. The Cognac color is beautiful. Both straps are well-made and I use them both off and on. The shoulder strap does not look bad when using the crossbody strap. I was hoping that the bag would be roomy, but not too heavy and that is exactly the way that it feels. Frye is high quality! I'm very happy with this purchase!

I didn't expect to love this bag as much as I do! It's roomy and comfortable to wear either over the shoulder or as a crossbody. The slouchy shape is casual and looks great with boots. I love the distressed leather; it makes the bag very durable and actually looks better the more you wear it. My current most-used bag!
