Palash Baggy Cargo Pants

I've been obsessed with the wide, baggy pants Free People has been offering this year. I probably have five pairs of the FP "To The Sky" pants, but I have to say that this cargo pant is particularly good, worth the extra money for this style. Here's why: a) The pants are made of lyocell (otherwise known as Tencel), which is a sustainable bamboo-derived fabric. b) Because of the fabric, they drape gracefully and don't appear chunky. c) There are subtle pleats in front and in back that also contribute to the drape. d) Because of the drape, fullness and the length of the rise, you can easily go down a size. (Personally, I liked the extra fullness/funkiness of the larger size, so I kept the Xl - which would have been my normal size in pants (14-16). However, I also purchased the Dried Herb in a L - and it fit equally as well. Go down a size if you don't want voluminous volume. Those with a smaller waist might even be able to go down 2 sizes.) e) The Goldenrod color surprised me - I was afraid that it was going to be too orange or bright - but it is actually just about the color of the stitching on a pair of jeans, only richer. It goes beautifully with a denim jacket, navy blue, browns, dark greens, tan, ivory, white, etc - plays well in the neutral sandbox! Gives the outfit a lift without looking overwhelmingly orange. f) The other color I purchased was the Dried Herb. Again, very aptly descriptive. However, the color does not look as beige-y as it does in all of the store pictures. It is actually a khaki green, kind of a lighter olive like you might find in camouflage. I am very glad the L fits equally as well as the XL, because now I'm going to keep both of them! Sorry for the review length, but hope this helps. Love these pants!

I was so excited to get these pants as they are great looking on the model, but sadly, they did not look good on me. The style, design and contruction and fabric is really good. But, I have a curvy figure and even with the fabric being soft and generous, the style did not flatter me, so I will be returning them.

I love these pants! I am normally a medium in Free People, and the medium fits perfectly. The small worked too due to the elastic waist and flowy fit, but I chose the medium as I like where the length hit more. I do not cinch the drawstring at the ankles so they have a straight leg flowy look, which I personally prefer. The pleated elastic waist band makes your butt look perkier. The material is very light and washes very well. For reference, I am 5’6 32dd 160lbs.

Love the baggy cargo pants from Free People. They are slightly large. I went with my normal size but it is roomy. I got the dried herb color. So good for my body shape(inverted triangle) since it adds volume to the bottom part of my body. If you have been blessed with a curvy body it might not be flattering for you.
