Frederick Luxury Candle

This was my first Harlem candle. Gorgeous presentation. No tunneling, but I did experience a bit of a sooty burn. The fragrance does not cast a wide throw, but it was good for my office. Provided tantalizing whiffs of fragrance as it burned. Really nice balance of sweet and umami/musk that grew on me the longer I burned the candle. I was sad when it burned out, and will order again. The things that knock this down from five stars are: - the sooty burn. It was pretty pronounced with soot covering half of the inside of the glass jar. - not sure what was going on here, but every once in a while, I smelled something like a motor working too hard. Plasticy burn smell. It makes me wonder if something found its way into this pour and caused moments of "what IS that??" smells. I am burning Harlem's Dream candle in my bedroom and have not had that happen with it, so I believe this was a fluke and it will not stop me from purchasing this candle again.

Lovely citrus and suede; so unique! Fills my space with huge vaulted ceilings and has all the throw of Red Roses for Jo Malone. Obviously smells nothing like that, but that is the strongest candle I know and this is on par. I have others from this brand, love this one enough this is a repurchase. Josephine is a lot sweeter by comparison if that helps. This has no Amber accord. I would describe this as perfectly down the middle for sexy and fresh.
