Why the Asymmetry??
This dress would have been lovely, but I didn’t notice the asymmetrical design until I received it in the mail. On one side (the side that shows best in the picture), the belted piece is attached at the side seam. However on the other side, it’s actually a continuation of a folded piece of fabric on the upper bodice of the dress, causing two things (1) you can only pull the belt so tight before the dress puckers, and (2) the pattern of the dress from the belt down doesn’t match up on the left and right sides. On one side the plaid starts to point downward (like a chevron pattern) while on the other side of the buttons the pattern stays horizontal. It’s really odd looking. You can see this much more obviously in the pictures of the plus-size version of this dress.

I love this dress! Fits true to size, I am 165# 5'5". I really like the bias panel and the tie which gives it some dimension. Wore it with flats and black leggings and it was a fun early spring, cool weather outfit.
