Sorrento Lux Plain Toe Derby

Okay, is it a nice shoe? Absolutely. So why one star? Well, I usually take a size 7 and often, but not always need a somewhat wider width. This show is a behemoth for a size 7. I put my foot in that was at least a half inch between the back of my foot and the back of the shoe. If this is a 7, then I need about size 4. Seriously, when will shoe makers get real about sizing. We have two very good systems: Imperial and Metric. I should be able to stand on a ruler....you know one of those tools that show Imperial inches and Metric millimeters. Whatever my foot measures, there should be shoe that fits that size. So if my 235mm foot is a 7, then in every brand under the sun, my foot should fit a size 7. The reality is, depending on the shoe and the brand I've needed sizes 6 to 8.5. That's insane. That's why this will be the first of probably a dozen pairs of shoes I'll try before finding one that works. Of course, I could do this simply and spend $500 on a pair of Allen Edmonds.
