Flexfly 02 Loafer

I love the design of these loafers and felt these would be perfect for traveling . These are also lower profile than others - and will be better for packing than my other pair of beloved Wonders. I ordered a 39 and they slipped off my heel. I then ordered the 38. the right showe fits perfectly, the left toebox is rather tight and one area rubs. I don't want to take a chance they will stretch - I am sad to send them back. Too big? too Small? Is it my left foot... or could this be a defect? I very much wanted these to work.
