The “handles” are loose as they are the backpack straps, and I did not find them comfortable. Overall, the Splitpack 37 L has served me well on my travels, and the limited lifetime warranty is the cherry on top of an already great deal. I purchased the splitpack Large for a few upcoming trips where I didn't want to check a bag. I recently just used it for a 4 day trip to Portland and could fit everything in it just fine. It was a little heavy to carry throughout the airport though. It would be better if there were hip straps to help with the weight on your shoulders. I was hoping to use this on a trip to Europe at the end of the month but I'm afraid it will be too heavy to carry that far with more stuff packed. It did fit perfectly fine in the over head bin on American Airlines. My husband said he will use it for the Europe trip because he doesn't pack as much as I do.

My husband bought these for us in an effort to avoid checked bags for international travel. We’ve successfully used these for 2 weeks trips to Costa Rica, Norway, and Africa and we LOVE them. I’m leaving for my trip next month already purchased a nice large roller luggage last year waiting for my Japan trip. My daughter purchased this split duffle several years ago. This is her go to travel bag. I decided to get one the more I thought rolling that large luggage on and off the train traveling through Japan hitting 6 cities I thought I would give the duffle a try. I love the color (dark olive) the size is sufficient (55L) I am excited to try this bag out! When it arrived two days ago I started packing.
