'Electra^™' Sandal

I had never tried this brand before, much less a pair of Active shoes, but these are so wonderful and comfortable and stylish and really elegant that I just can't wait to get a new pedicure so that I can wear them everywhere! These could easily "pass" as dressy shoes because of the sparkles - I chose Pewter color because I thought I should try to be somewhat subtle and to act my age (80 yrs) but truly I cannot praise them enough. The platform is higher than I usually wear, but in fact I feel quite secure and steady wearing them. I know they are good for my feet because the arch and contour are wonderfully supportive. And they are true to their name: FitFlops, because they don't flap flap flap when I walk - they really fit. I followed the recommendation for 1/2 size and ordered the next size up - a 6 - and they fit just like I prefer my shoes to feel! Like feathers on my feet!

Overall, these fit ok. They do run wide and long, which worked for me since I wear a size 10 and have wider feet with high arches. Sometimes fitted, non-stretch sandal straps won't fit me. I have the FitFlop Oasis (in black) and I like the fit of them so much more than these (in silver) and the Oasis cost me $20 less. The Oasis is narrower and shorter, better suited for most women's feet. It's less clunky like a typical flip flop although the Electra style is more dressy. The Electra gave me blisters on my second toes. I had to use a pair of scissors to trim the leather on both shoes where it was sewn to meet the toe piece, as it was sharp and abrasive--and I wear flip flops all the time from April to October, so it isn't like my feet are sensitive. I didn't feel like they were working my legs out out...maybe in time I'll feel it more. They are very thick soled though, and seem a bit clunky at first. I like that these shoes are sparkly, but I wouldn't buy them for full price again given the blisters. I'd def recommend NOT buying them online but going to the store to try them on and walk around in them. You'll know right away if any spots will chafe your toes like they did to me...and if they're worth the high price tag.

This is my 5th pair of FitFlops and my first "dressy" pair - they are so much nicer in person - the pictures do not do them justice - nor does the description tell you that the top is lined with this cushiony fabric (similar to neoprene) that just comforts your feet. I picked them up for a cruise, hoping I will be able to wear them in the evening - I hate wearing anything but FitFlops now!! They are sooooo comfortable.

I have not been able to wear sandles for 2 years now, due to ankle and arch problems. I had to wear tennis shoes everywhere and I hated it. I could only walk about 15 minutes in other shoes before I was in such pain. I decided there had to be something out there that would work for me. I was just looking in the shoe dept. I tried on more expensive shoes and as soon as I put them on I was in pain. I noticed the sparkle on these fitflop and decided to try them. I was in love at first step. no pain in my knees or feet. I have since shopped for hours without resting. I clean house in these shoes and never take them off. I have told other ladies about these shoes who have the same problems. Please give them a try they are wonderful... I can now wear sandles again and enjoy my summers. They may seem expensive for sandles, but they are worth every penny. Don't wait buy them now.
