Finn Chunky Knit Throw Blanket

I got the cream color. Initially the throw looked very cute and just as pictured. The open weave turned out to be less practical for actual use than a regular throw because toes tend to peak out and it stretches, but that was ok. Overall it was maybe more about aesthetics. Until 6 months later when it’s now looking quite ratty. The fabric is pilling and threads coming loose. I hate to think what the markup is on this, thin knit rolled and loosely knotted. For the price I’m very disappointed. Not so cute laying on my sofa anymore, just a cute trick on me. I certainly won’t be purchasing the new throw from this brand.

Never, ever have I been a fan of synthetic fibers, so imagine my dismay when I received the charcoal throw as a gift from boyfriend. He did get the brand right, as Pom Pom is everywhere in my place. I could tell immediately that it was acrylic and l was surprised that they used that to make what would have been a super 100% cotton throw instead. Equally surprising was the price point for a synthetic item.

A coworker once told me, when she was online shopping for a blanket, that you need to spend good money to get a good quality blanket. This was my first blanket splurge and I do NOT regret it. We have spent stupider $$ collectively on the growing mound of low quality blankets that are collecting dust around our house. I am so thrilled to finally have one beautiful, great quality blanket as a constant on our couch that is not only unbelievably cozy, but that will also act as a decor piece.
