Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 25

I had heard about this foundation from a friend and decided to walk into Nordstrom to get color matched and try it on to see how I like it. Boy was I surprised! I am in love! I had a wonderful experience at the EL counter with the pro, who was OUTSTANDING and wish I could give her a ten star review, and she color matched me AND made me a good size sample that lasted me two weeks. This foundation is not like any other I have tried (and recently I have tried almost everything high-end at each Nordstrom counter). My skin is maturing, and not so gracefully...so I have been on the hunt for the perfect foundation that covers hyper pigmentation but doesn't dry, get cakey, crease in my lines/wrinkles, get chalky or fall off and/or fade. I know that's a TALL order in a foundation, but with so many foundations out there I figured eventually I'd stumble on something that at least came close without having to use concealers everywhere...well, here it is! It's buildable from semi-moderate to semi-full, I go lighter on weekends and go moderate to full on weekdays and depending on how much I need to cover. It glides on like silk, is NOT sticky like some full coverage are and doesn't dry me out like some of those liquid-to-powder formulas. It stays in place for my full 9 hour work day and doesn't slip in humidity or flake in dry and cold air. I have been putting this one to the test because I have such high expectations and I don't write reviews based on one or two uses...I write when I have had a full experience and can vouch for a product. I believe that reviews are only helpful when a product is used for more than a few tries...I don't get value from reviews that say "love it"! I have been using it with different primers to see how it reacts and it works with all that I have tried (at least 5 different brands/types) and that may help it's staying power, although in store, the pro did not use a primer and it held up perfectly for several hours. I have used it with and without a setting powder and both are perfect. I apply using just my fingers because a little goes a LONG way and it blends beautifully. I've tried a regular foundation brush and a beauty sponge, but for me, fingers have been my best method, dotting a little extra here and there, etc. although, I have not used the recommended EL sculpting foundation brush that is supposed to work wonders with this. That will be my next purchase when I need to replenish. You do not need a lot to achieve the look you're going for, so this bottle will last a while, just like the sample lasted me two full weeks. So, in my opinion, this is a winner! I think any age group would appreciate this formula. It doesn't settle into lines, it covers dark spots and blemishes, builds and blends better than anything I've tried but doesn't make me look like a clown! I'm also thrilled because the color range is tremendous and I can have a shade for summer and a shade for winter! I hate to admit that I was literally mixing two different shades of another VERY high end brand just to achieve my perfect shade, but the EL pro found my PERFECT match with ONE shade, "Pebble"...I even like the name :) I hope this helps and wish everyone a very safe, happy and healthy holiday season!
