Petite Full Length Coat

Took a chance on this coat as a short person (5’2” if I’m stretching to full height), knowing that it would probably be full length on me. The quality and drape of the fabric is incredible. I like that it’s unlined because it doesn’t add any bulkiness to your frame and it doesn’t feel constricting in the shoulders. I find the wool to be very soft, but if you’re exceptionally sensitive to wool, it might feel a little scratchy along the neck & collarbones. True to size, maybe a little oversized, but not overwhelming. In the photo, I tied the belt in back to cinch it in a bit. See photo for height/fit reference.

Petite Full Length Coat

Fantastic Quality

I guess I’m alone here, but I love this coat. It is the softest wool I have ever felt and it is extremely chic. I’m 5’6” and it fits me perfectly. I’m normally a size 6 and got an 8 to allow for bulky sweaters and blazers and it’s perfect. I know it doesn’t have lining but I have had many of those shiny liners rip and look horrible inside coats. From what I can tell the higher end wrap coats like this don’t have lining. This is a very nice, quality piece and I’m so happy I invested in it!

Unlined, too long, fabric wrinkles

Unlined = feels itchy, wool fibers poke skin Length = too long for 5’2” frame, waist belt almost fell at hips Fabric = wrinkly; today’s wool-blend coats include fibers like polyester, etc. that cause the fabric to wrinkle (hate this!) *I have a beautiful Ralph Lauren wool-blend wrap coat from the Anniversary Sale 5-6 years ago and the wool content is 90+% and I have NO issues with wrinkly fabric. That RL coat is also beautifully LINED! Can’t believe this Reiss coat is priced so high—beautiful color but quality is a miss.

not for petites

It is a beautiful coat but the sleeves are too long for petites. I’m 5’2” and got this in a size 4 and the sleeves are just too long. I prefer not to get this tailored as wool coats just don’t look the same sometimes when altered so I returned this. I hope Nordstrom carries the petite version of this coat in future.

Definitely not for petites

I am 5’1, bought the size 2 (my usual size). It runs slightly large, was too boxy and long on the sleeve length. I tried to cinch the waist using the belt, however bunches up in upper back and the button is too low on the waist. I was disappointed, quality is as expected for Reiss, would skip if you are petite, unless you want yo spend extra on tailoring. I am hoping they would bring them in petites next year.
