Details & care
The Japanese tradition of kintsugi—meaning "golden joinery"—treats breakage and repair as part of an object's history, not something to hide. Inspired by this unique art form, Emilie Shapiro has crafted these earrings, which are carefully sawn in half, then fused back together with 14k gold, symbolizing strength, beauty, and transformation. Oxidized to enhance the contrast between silver and gold, these lightweight earrings serve as a wearable reminder that challenges shape us into something even more whole. Handcrafted from sterling silver, intentionally broken and repaired with 14k gold to create a striking contrast. Lightweight and comfortable to wear, measuring ¾” W x ¾” H. 14k gold-filled ear wires. Includes a meaningful card explaining the symbolism of kintsugi. Handmade in New York by Emilie Shapiro and a team of female artisans.
