Embellished Shift Cocktail Dress

I needed a dress that was slightly conservative but still a FUN "Little Black Dress" for an event my husband and I were attending. The dress had just the amount of sparkle. Best of all it was comfortable! Often evening dress can be a bit uncomfortable this one was not. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I had the hardest time finding a cocktail dress between bodycon strumpet and mother of the bride but this one is perfect. Very flattering, elegant (I personally don't think the collar looks cheap - it is well-made and becoming), classic and has some stretch so it fits the middle aged woman wherever it needs to stretch. Well-priced.

I purchased this dress in Navy for a November wedding. It was pretty, but would have liked it better in Black. I was disappointed when trying on that the zipper in back stuck up about an 1" above the neck line. It was a possibility, but now will be returning due to the quality of the dress. Rhinestone collar made the dress look cheap.

Love this dress! Was dreading shopping for a dress to wear to a formal evening event because I’ve gained weight and feel chubby. However, this dress is darling on and would fit any figure from small to large. There is no elastic in the fabric so I’ll be wearing a spanx- type garment underneath to flatten my tummy a little. The silver detail around the neck line is very sparkly and dressy. Sleeve and chest/shoulder area are made of sheer black fabric (not lace and not net) which add a dressy touch. I will need to wear a black strapless bra and my only suggestion is that they bring the non-sheer dress fabric up a little higher on the chest so the top of the bra cups don’t show. The dress goes just past my knees and I’m 5’4 1/2” I bought size 16 as I weigh 180 lbs and it fits nicely- not and but not loose. The dress would look great with either silver or black heels, spark heels would be even better for a dressier look. I can see wearing this to everything from a formal event to a nice dinner out to a musical on broadway to a funeral- it’s that versatile! Thank you for carrying so many styles, Nordstrom!
